The Official Cocktail of the British Virgin Islands is DELICIOUS
After our yummy dinner at Betony and cocktailing at the Empire Rooftop, we headed to Porter House for an after dinner drink. This is a steakhouse located in Columbus Circle - it also happened to be open late on a Thursday, which was exactly what we needed!
When we arrived, we cozied up at the bar - it was very nice, made with polished wood and lined with soft leather stools. I told the bartender that I wanted something with Zacapa Rum (obviously), but I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. He suggested a Painkiller. The name alone sounded amazing, so I was on-board. The bartender explained that it is a traditional tropical cocktail made with rum (traditionally Pusser's Rum), pineapple juice, cream of coconut, orange juice and grated fresh nutmeg.
IT IS AMAZING - OMG. It is like a lighter version of a Pina Colada since it isn't frozen. I am now obsessed with this cocktail. You must try one! I plan to come back here sometime fora meal - beautiful views of the park.
Cheers,
Liz
