A Hearty Brunch to Start the Day
It was lovely catching up with my dear friend Christine over brunch at B4 the other weekend. I had been here once before for dinner and it was delicious, so my expectations were high!
For brunch, there are $5 brunch specials on cocktails (the basics, like Blood Marys and Mimosas). We both got the Bloody Mary and were quite pleased. It had a good texture and just the right amount of spice to it.
To start, we ordered the Sticky Buns. They were SO DAMN DELICIOUS! They were warm, gooey and completely covered in icing. They didn't last long at all. Well, we inhaled them!
As our mains, I got the burger topped with NY State Cheddar, Applewood Smoked Bacon, lettuce, tomato and Shawn's Special Sauce...I'm unclear what this was, but I think it was similar to an In N' Out sauce. I really enjoyed it! Once I had the Bloody Mary, I knew I wanted a more savory brunch item. Christine ordered the chicken and waffles - she is a small person and this meal likely weighed as much as her head. I felt it was a bit heavy on the gravy - you may want to get it on the side. She did like it but couldn't even come close to finishing it.
This is a really great restaurant - I encourage you to check it out! It was great to visit before we went to the Tompkins Square Dog Park Halloween Parade! I need to make another post with just pictures from that, but one of my favorites is below!
Cheers!
