Tommy Bahama is a Fashionable Restaurant

I'm so glad Eileen starting working last week - it is nice to have back another intern from last summer! I haven't seen her in over six months, so we needed to catch up over a proper lunch. We decided to go across the street to Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar for a fancy lunch. We are hungry gals, so we ordered an appetizer to split!

The Crispy Calamari was served with Citrus Chile, Toasted Sesame and Sriracha Aioli (aka SPICY MAYO!). It was super yummy and clearly I asked for extra dipping sauce because well...why not?

Eileen ordered the Chicken & Mango Salad served with toasted almonds & macadamia nuts, vine-ripe tomatoes, feta, sun-dried blueberries, pepitas, and Meyer lemon vinaigrette. She seemed to really enjoy it. I was too focused on my tacos to really pay much attention.

The Blackened Fish Tacos were served with tomato relish, chipotle aioli, Asian slaw and lime sour cream. There was a weird coconut pudding-ish thing served with it, along with some sweet plantains. I am not a fan of things like this - I think they are confusing as a side dish. I asked to substitute it for sweet potato fries. They brought them out later but I was too busy inhaling them to take a photo.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a fantastic bar. Give it a visit when you're in Midtown!

Cheers,
