Pizza Party!
My close friend Melissa has raved about American Flatbread, a delicious TriBeCa spot that features a huge hearth to bake the pizzas. We also had a coupon to use, so cost savings made the meal even more fun!
As you can tell from the outside, the restaurant is HUGE.
We started with the Watermelon and Feta salad, made with arugala, sungold tomatoes, citrus mint vinaigrette and jicama slaw (the white strands on the salad). It was lovely - light and fresh. A perfect balance to our heavier pizza!
Melissa recommended that we get the Mopsy's Kalua Pork, made with braised pork shoulder, mango bbq suace, red onions, pineapple, chevre, mozzarella, and grana cheese. This was a delicious reinterpretation of the traditional Hawaiian pizza - this is a must try!
This is a really tasty spot that is especially good for large groups. There is a huge beer menu and plenty of wine selections too. Give it a spin!
Cheers,
Liz
