Visiting the NoMad Restaurant
When forming new business relationships, it is critical to do so while breaking bread. What better place to do that than The NoMad Restaurant? I absolutely love this place and its proximity to my apartment certainly doesn't hurt. I met up with the very talented mixologist Lynnette Marrero and Chef Grace Ramirez.
In case don't know, the NoMad features a lunch special from 12pm-2pm. It is a $29 two course prix-fixe meny with many exciting options.
We started off with a delicious Focaccia bread. I only had a piece to save room for what was sure to be a momentous lunch!
As my first course, I ordered the Chicken Veloute with hen of the woods mushrooms & chicken liver mousse. This is a heartier soup, thickened with flour. I've been more adventurous with chicken liver after a very positive experience at Distilled.
To warm up, we ordered a round of Zacapa Hot Toddies. Yummy!
Since I came to the NoMad with my very popular friend Lynnette, we were greeted with something special: a treat from Eleven Madison Park (both locations have the same food & beverage director). A beautiful copper vessel came to our table holding a treat: Smoked Sturgeon Sabayon with Chive Oil Presented in Chicken Eggs! Absolutely heaven in a bite.
I still haven't managed to enjoy the legendary Chicken for Two, but I was told the Chicken Burger was a good substitute. The Chicken Burger is served on Brioche with Foie Gras & Black Truffle Mayonnaise. Also, don't forget the pickles & fries. It was super yummy! SO RICH. NOM!
To pair with our entrees, we got a round of Zacapa Negronis (a Zegroni). Always a good choice!
Finally, to finish, we shared the passion fruit cheesecake. It was so yummy! As a coincidence, one of my dining guests, Chef Grace Ramirez, had a photo from her upcoming cookbook that exactly matched the presentation of the dessert! Great minds, right?
I absolutely LOVE this spot and plan to come back again and again!
Cheers,
Liz
