A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
While Courtney was in town, I wanted to catch a fun show. Typically, when I receive mail, it is junk mail and I throw it away. Luckily, I decided to check through the spam offers I get and I found one that was perfect for this! I had an American Express offer for 50% off all tickets at all times for a newish musical comedy, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (http://www.agentlemansguidebroadway.com). The musical opened in November 2013.
The play stars Bryce Pinkham as Monty Navarro and Jefferson Mays as the eight doomed heirs of the D'Ysquith Family. Monty finds out he is the heir to a family fortune and ONLY eight people stand in his way. The entire play shows the hilarious ways that he "eliminates" these obstacles. I absolutely loved it!
I still want to see The Book of Mormon though it is hard to rationalize the ticket price. If you're looking for an awesome substitute, I believe this musical will hit the spot with deadly accuracy and maintain the health of your bank account!
